Review: Designated Infected by Ricky Cooper

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by Should Be Reading. Share a couple of sentences from your current read to wet the appetite of other readers.

A fast paced, heart racing story

Designated Infected

..... hung limply, his arms spread out, pinned in place by thick iron re bars. The solid lumps of iron stick through him like a pencil through paper. Blood pooled amongst the brass casings at what remained of his feet, his uniform hung in tatters; his body or what remained was shredded, the flesh peeled back from his bones like skin off a potato.

Review

In Ricky Cooper's Designated Infected, we follow a group of secret military agents who have been called on by the British royalty to protect its citizens from the outbreak of a deadly virus. The team soon realise that the "infected" are acting very similar to "zombies". The story kept me interested all the way through and i enjoyed the action and the gore. The characters are great and you can almost feel as though you are gearing up with them and heading into battle, my heart was racing and I was sometimes scared to turn the page!

I was very impressed with the experiments one of the characters was doing on these infected and on willing test subjects. I was engrossed in the descriptions of the virus and how it affects the human body.

With adrenaline pumping, fear and suspense I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good horror story, with a zombie theme.
