I'm Supposed to Make a Difference by Kevin Vought ~ an Audiobook Review

by Donna Huber

I enjoy reading the occasional memoir but I realized that I usually read memoirs by women. I also love stories of people overcoming extraordinary obstacles. And since I needed an audiobook to listen to this week, I took a chance on Kevin Vought's I'm Supposed to Make a Difference.

Trashlands by Alison Stine ~ a Review & Excerpt

Several generations from now, floods, fires, and earthquakes in the wake of climate change disasters forced global powers to stop producing new plastics and pollutants. Coasts and national borders were redrawn due to the flooding, and entire regions were devastated by garbage, and the survivors of these disasters eking a living out of the poisoned ground. Coral is a plucker, one that plucks plastic out of polluted rivers, living near a junkyard in the shadow of a strip club. She's never had a chance to want anything before, and a reporter from the coast provides the stirrings of hope.

3 Mysteries to Curl Up With

by Donna Huber

The forecast for this coming weekend calls for cold temperatures (the highs are in the 50s and so are the lows!). So all I will want to do is curl up under a fluffy blanket, with a hot drink, and a good book. Mysteries are perfect because you don't want to put them down until you've solved the mystery. If you are needing some recommendations, here are three light mysteries that would be great for a day by the fire.

Pink: A Christmas Romance by Monica Collier ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

When I saw the cover of this book, I was intrigued but when I read that it was a Christmas book - something that I rarely read, I decided not to read it.  The intrigue of the story outweighed the Christmas aspect so I decided to take a chance and am very happy that I did.
