by Susan Roberts

Lyrics
All the leaves are brown (all the leaves are brown)
And the sky is gray (and the sky is gray)
I've been for a walk (I've been for a walk)
On a winter's day (on a winter's day)
I'd be safe and warm (I'd be safe and warm)

3 Historical Fiction Stories You May Have Missed

by Donna Huber

I've been trying to catch up on my to-be-reviewed pile. I recently read 3 novels of historical fiction that were published in the past year. They were all enjoyable in their own way. If you are looking for something to read in historical fiction and haven't picked them up yet, you should consider them for your to-be-read pile. Also, if you are participating in the Big Book Summer Challenge hosted by Book by Book, all three will qualify. But don't let the big page number scare you.

Titanium Noir by Nick Harkaway ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

In the nearish future, science has created true giants. Typically financial or political giants can reverse the aging process but a side effect is extreme growth in body mass - not everyone sees this a negative side effect. They are the new untouchables and when a crime is committed involving one of these Titans, Cal Sounder is called in. He is a private detective of sorts who consults often with the local police. A Titan, who doesn't fit the typical Titan profile, Sounder finds himself tumbling down the rabbit hole of secrets that only power can cover up.
