Damn Lucky by Kevin Maurer ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I love WWII fiction and have really gotten into reading biographical fiction so it makes sense that I start reading historical NONfiction. Last fall for Nonfiction November, I read my first WWII nonfiction book (Lightning Down - read my review) and really enjoyed it. So when I saw the audiobook Damn Lucky, I decided to give it a try. It is also about a pilot - John Luckadoo was a B-17 bomber pilot.

Hope Springs Series by Ashley Farley ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

From the Author:  Women need uplifting during the challenges we’re currently facing. While there is plenty of drama in the series, the main characters, the staff at Hope Springs Farm, encourage and support one another as they work together to accomplish their endeavors. The Inn at Hope Springs Farm is a fairytale resort where family is celebrated, friendships are made, romance is discovered, and dreams come true.

The Beautiful Backdrop of Kew Gardens is Perfect for Posy Lovell's Historical Tales of Love, Friendship, and War

by Donna Huber

I love early to mid-twentieth century fiction, particularly if they feature one of the world wars. Since I read Julia Kelly's The Last Garden in England, I've been wanting to read more historical fiction featuring gardens. Posy Lovell has two novels that explore women's rights, racial intolerance, war, and love all against the backdrop of Kew Royal Botanical Gardens in London. The first book The Kew Gardens Girls came out last year and the sequel The Kew Gardens Girls at War comes out next week. If you are like me and didn't get the first book read last year, you have time to pick it up and be ready for book two,

Fierce Poison by Will Thomas ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I discovered Will Thomas's Barker & Llewelyn mystery series last year when I read book 12 Dance with Death (read my review). While I wasn't keen on the mystery, I loved the characters so I thought I would give another book in the series a try. This time I listened to the audiobook of Fierce Poison and I didn't stop listening.
