Excavations by Hannah Michell ~ a Review

by MK French

Sae was at home with her toddlers when she heard of the collapse of a massive skyscraper where her husband Jae was an engineer. Conflicting reports of the event made Sae nervous; she and Jae used to be anti-government protesters, and somehow the government was involved, with missing contractors. Leaving the children with her estranged mother, Sae sets out to discover the truth. It's more complicated and confusing than she thought, and perhaps there was more to Jae than she knew.

The Language of Kin by Lynne Hugo ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

The Language of Kin
is an intense read with powerful messages about communication in both human and animal existence.  It's also one of the few books that I've read recently that I wish I could give more than 5 stars to.  I went into the story completely blind to the plot and was hooked by the first chapter.

Must Love Flowers by Debbie Macomber ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I didn't know until I read Debbie Macomber's letter to readers at the start of Must Love Flowers that she had decided to stop writing, but then this story started bubbling up and she couldn't ignore the fact that she loves to write. I'm so glad that she isn't forever putting away her pen. Even if we don't get a new summer or Christmas book every year, I would be sad if there were no more Debbie Macomber books.
