Twenty-one years ago, Nikki’s life shattered. Betrayed by her family and facing a painful divorce, she cut ties with her past and embraced life as a free-spirited writer. But when a shocking phone call brings her back to Camano Island—a quaint seaside town—everything changes.
This is the first book of a new series by Kimberly Thomas. There is a romance, but it has so much more - the strength of a bond between sisters, leaving the past behind to create a new future, and the enduring power of family.
Nikki had not talked to her family in 21 years. They hurt her to the point that she didn't want to see them again. She missed her sister Trish, but she also blamed her. When Nikki saw her sister at their parents' funeral, they both promised to stay in touch, but it never happened. Now she's gotten a phone call to tell her that her sister has been injured in a car accident, and she needs to help run the inn that her sister owns. She is a journalist and can work from anywhere, so she packs her car and drives to their hometown. There she finds her sister in a coma and doctors who aren't sure if she will survive. Her sister's lawyer calls to tell Nikki that Trish wanted her to try and find the baby that she put up for adoption at birth - not because she wanted to, but because her parents insisted. Nikki also reunites with Paul, her first love, who helps her look for her niece. Using an investigator, they find out that 21-year-old Amy lives in a neighboring town. As they try to convince Amy that she is adopted and that her birth mother really did love her, they are met with skepticism from Amy. Can Nikki convince Amy that she is loved while they are both hoping for Trish's recovery? Can Nikki reunite with her sister and put their past problems behind them as they build a new and stronger bond with each other?

After a devastating accident shatters her self-image, Trish is left piecing together the fragments of her life. Her carefully constructed world is upended further when she reconnects with her estranged sister, Nikki, and meets Amy—the daughter she hasn’t seen in twenty-one years.
Book two in this new series takes the reader back to Camano Island and the lives of Nikki, Trish, and Amy. Trish is gradually recovering from an accident that almost killed her. She returns to the inn that she owns on Camano Island and to the sister that she had long been estranged from. Things have changed because her sister had found Trish's daughter, whom she gave up for adoption at birth. Amy has had a rough upbringing and just can't seem to forgive her birth mother or understand why she didn't keep her instead of giving her up for adoption. Amy's dream has always been to go to culinary school to become a pastry chef. She seems to be excelling at the school until a guest lecturer, Gabriel, teaches the class and finds fault with everything that she makes. Is he really criticizing her or trying to make her the best she can be? When she meets him outside of class, there are some sparks between them - is he a critical teacher, or is there a possibility that he could be more than that in her life? While Amy is dealing with Gabriel, Trish is dealing with Reed. He has been by her side for years and wants to move their relationship to another level, but she doesn't feel like she's ready for romance. Will he continue to pursue her or give up because of her lack of interest?
This book is an uplifting story about the strength of family bonds and the happiness that can come from letting romance thrive despite the brokenness of the past.

Two Sisters. Two Crossroads. One Unforgettable Journey.
Book three in this new series takes the reader back to Camano Island and the lives of Nikki, Trish, and Amy, along with a new character and sister, Lacy. Nikki and Trish are now working together at the inn, and Amy is part of their lives and living with her mother, Nikki. Lacy is a recent widow. She was raised by a single mother who didn't tell her who her father was until she was dying. She found out that her father, whom she'd never met, had felt guilty about ignoring her and left her a house on Camino Island in his will. Due to financial issues, Lacy is forced to leave California and travels with her two children to the island. Her teenage son is not happy with the move and is making her life very difficult, while her younger daughter has become so shy that she barely even offers her opinion. When they get to the house, they find that it needs a lot of work, including having the electricity completely rewired. When the new electrician comes to the house, there is a spark between them, but Lacy is still dealing with her grief and is not really interested in a new relationship.
Once Lacy gets to the island, she finds out that she has two half-sisters that she never knew about, but telling Nikki and Trish that she is their sister is very difficult, and they are doubtful about her story. Can she convince them that she is their sister and become part of their family? Will her kids learn to adjust to their new life, and will her feelings for the electrician continue to grow, or will she be stuck in her past and refuse to look toward the future?

Two women. One island. A lifetime of secrets—and the chance to begin again.
The final book in this series is about love - finding their way back to a past love as they learn the power of love, loss, and second chances.
Nelly is a widow with an estranged daughter. Her daughter, Kathy, is going through a divorce and asks if she can come home to Camano Island. Nelly hopes that they can rekindle their mother/daughter relationship and have a future together. Nelly has always kept a big secret from her family - she still thinks a lot about her first love - a young man who proposed to her when she was 18, right before he left for Vietnam and who never returned. She had a happy marriage, but still grieved over her lost first love. Surprisingly, he is still alive and wants to rekindle their romance. Is it possible for her to take a chance and have her happily ever after?
Amy is getting close to graduating from culinary school. Gabriel, her boyfriend and a celebrity chef, has been gone for weeks, making speeches in Europe and trying to get investors for the restaurant he wants to start. The phone calls between them have gotten shorter, and Amy is sure that she is losing him. Meanwhile, she makes a new friend, and even though there are some sparks between them, she wants Gabriel. Will Amy get her happily ever after with Gabriel, or will the sexy fireman make her realize that he should be part of her future?
This is the last book in this series, but hopefully, sometime in the future, the author will take her readers back to Camano Island to visit all of the characters that we've come to know in this series.
NOTE: This is a series that needs to be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
