Jane Doe by Victoria Helen Stone (@VictoriaDahl) ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

A double life with a single purpose: revenge.

I was up until 2 am finishing this novel because I had to see how it ended. I am tired today but it was well worth the lack of sleep to read the amazing conclusion to this novel.

Jane Doe is the perfect revenge novel. Jane is a self-diagnosed sociopath. She dislikes her family and has trouble connecting with other people. But when she plans revenge on someone, she does it right. Her best and only friend, Meg, committed suicide. Meg fell in love with the wrong guy and when he threw her out, she didn't want to continue living. Jane decides to temporarily move to the city where the boyfriend lives and exact revenge on him for Meg's death. She didn't want him to know who she was or what she was doing. Instead, she played the role of a needy young lady and he was the type of guy who latched right onto a woman like that. He wanted a perfect little girlfriend who would let him be the boss of the relationship and not make any decisions for herself. Once Jane ingratiates herself with Steven and his family, she exacts her revenge and it is brilliant! Steven never saw it coming but Jane knew...and that's what mattered most.

I loved the character of Jane. She knew what she needed to do and she followed through. She was also extremely sarcastic and I loved her attitude. She's the friend that all of us need at one point during our lives.
