May 2020; ebook (196 pages); cozy mystery
I always enjoy this series, but I think perhaps The Hitwoman and the Exorcism is my favorite. I'm not sure why. I smiled more (thanks to Matlida) and though there is plenty of danger, it felt more lighthearted. Well, there is a moment towards the end that had my heart stopping so that part definitely wasn't lighthearted.

I like all the animals, but since Matilda the pig was introduced in the last book she has become my favorite. I don't think it is because I inspired the character. I think it is because I really like pigs. Every time I read her name I smiled. She gives me the warm fuzzies. She's not demanding or sharp-tongued; she's smart and just kind happy-go-lucky.

We know Maggie's life is chaotic but in this book, it becomes crazier as she has to race against the clock to save Katie from being harmed by the ghost of Maggie's grandmother. While Maggie does tie up one loose thread that might slightly uncomplicate her life (at least it should make things more harmonious on her grandfather's farm), I'm afraid the tangled threads of her life have grown even more complicated.

Overall, this was a fun book with some cute moments. It's great escapism reading.
