Juniper Falls Ranch Series by Nan Reinhardt ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

I don't read a lot of romance novels, but after I've read deep or depressing novels, I like to read a good romance with a happily ever after ending to balance out my reading life.  Here are reviews of a new trilogy featuring rodeo cowboys.

It was supposed to be just a vacation fling…

Beth left Nashville after her 20-year marriage ends because she wasn't able to have children.  She moves back home to Indiana to work with her family at their orchard.  She is depressed over her inability to have children and isn't sure that moving home was the right move, so she decides to take a week's vacation at a spa in Montana to give her time to think about her life. When she books her trip, she makes a major mistake and ends up at a working dude ranch.  The rodeo is in town, so there is no room at the spa, and she decides to stay at the ranch for a week.  Del is a rodeo cowboy who works at the ranch when he's not on tour.  He's recently made a decision not to continue with rodeo but hasn't told anyone yet.  He and Beth have an instant attraction, and she decides to follow through because it will only be a vacation fling.  But life has a way of changing plans, and she has decisions to make.  Does she want to stay with Del or return to her safe life with her family?  Will Del and Beth get their happily ever after, or will their fling be only a vacation romance?

The Cowboy's Comeback

book cover of romance novel The Cowboy’s Comeback by Nan Reinhardt
January 2026; Tule Publishing; 978-1970840261
ebook, print (228 pages); romance

It’s an enemies-to-lovers showdown between the cowboy who can’t trust and the cowgirl who won’t forgive.

Bo takes a job as a horse trainer at a Montana ranch while he is recuperating from an injury.  He's well known on the rodeo circuit not only as a great rider but also as someone who understands horses -- some people refer to him as a 'horse whisperer'.  When he meets the people who are at the ranch to train their horses, he’s surprised that one of them is Cassie -- his girlfriend from 5 years earlier.  Cassie and Bo haven't spoken to each other in 5 years after a big breakup over trust issues.  Cassie has a new horse and hopes to get it trained so she can rebuild her career on the rodeo circuit.  Bo and Cassie immediately clash but agree to try to work together.  Even though they both distrust the other and don't want to work together at first, there is a strong undercurrent of lust between them.  Will they be able to work together to train the horses, and will they get their happily ever after and find trust again?

I enjoyed the characters in this book and loved the second-chance romance between Bo and Cassie.  Also enjoyed catching up with Beth and Del from the first book in the series.  I enjoy reading an occasional light romance and look forward to future books in this series.

Help Wanted, Cowboy

book cover of romance novel Help Wanted, Cowboy Nan Reinhardt
July 2026; Tule Publishing; 978-1972451120
ebook, print (194 pages); romance

A Montana bull rider is temporarily working as a ranch hand. An OB nurse who wants “a favor”. Two opposites thrown together. A treasure hunt adds to autumn magic.

It was great to go back to Juniper Falls Ranch and catch up with Beth and Del and Cassie and Bo.  This book adds a hot new romance to the trilogy. Rory is taking a break from the rodeo to take care of his mother.  While waiting, he takes a job as a ranch hand at Juniper Falls Ranch.  During this first week on the job, he has an accident and gets cut.  Since there is a nurse at the ranch house taking care of Beth, they decide to take Rory to be checked out by the nurse.  Millie is a midwife helping to take care of Beth during her last weeks of pregnancy.  As soon as Rory and Millie meet, the sparks begin to fly!  After Rory gets hurt and can’t do ranch work for a few weeks, he is asked to be the cook.  Turns out the guy can really cook, plus it means that he gets to spend more time with Millie.  There is also a mystery from the past affecting Rory’s family and a necklace that may have been hidden at the ranch.  I enjoyed the romance between the two main characters – even though they were in lust for each other from page 1, they spent time getting to know each other before the inevitable sex.  They were both nice and caring people and fit very well together.  Also, the mystery lends some intrigue to the book.  Another sexy cowboy romance from this author!
