Literary Balderdash - Girl Who Reads Style

Have you ever seen a book title or cover and wonder what the book is about, particularly older books? I thought it would be fun to find obscure book titles and see how close you, or ridiculous, can get to describing what the book actually is about. Kind of a literary balderdash. Leave what you think the book is about in the comments. Try your hand at one or all of them. There might be a prize or two for the closest description or which ever summary makes be giggle. It's almost the weekend, so have a little fun (and don't cheat by looking up the titles, please).

The Leopard

Peppermints in the Parlour

Swan Song

Mistress Masham's Repose

Are you up for the challenge? Leave a comment with your best guess of what the summary is for one or more of the titles above. There may be a prize so leave a way to contact you.

  1. The first one is obviously about a weiner dog who works as a cook at the Waffle House.

  2. hmmm...never heard of any of them, but The Leopard...I keep thinking of the old saying, "A leopard never changes its spots." So, I'm going to go with a story about a wealthy woman who lost everything after the "accidental" death of her husband...she forgot to read the fine print on their prenuptial...and her fancy life is sinking in the sand! lol Yet she continues to live the high life and convinces all her new suitors she is well off. :D By the way, I love the Waffle House idea on the cover with a dog.

    1. I tried to pick obscure titles so that no one would have an unfair advantage.
