Tinsel & Mistletoe

book cover of holiday romance novel Tinsel & Mistletoe by Kimberly Thomas
October 2023; Indie; 979-8864002759
ebook, print (208 pages); Christmas romance

Escaping the bustling city of Boston, free-spirited romance novelist Addison retreats to a tranquil, snow-kissed cabin in the town of Rockport, brimming with dreams of crafting her next novel. Unbeknownst to her, destiny serves an intriguing twist as she stumbles upon Liam, the charming yet enigmatic bookstore owner with a shady past as riveting as the novels on his shelves.

It's always great to start a new series and to meet new people. A new series by Kimberly Thomas is even more exciting because you always know that you’re going to get some great well-written characters in a beautiful setting. Tinsel & Mistletoe is the first book in a new Christmas trilogy and caught my interest on the first page. Addison is an author who is looking for inspiration for her new novel. She’s never settled down in one place and plans to stay in the small town of Rockport for only enough time to write her new book. Once she meets Liam, a bookstore owner, she may be headed for a change of plans. Will they be able to at least spend a joyful Christmas together in the midst of a town feud between two families that has lasted several generations or will the feud ruin Christmas for them and the entire town? This cute romance left me anxious to read book two in the series.

Season's Yuletide & Holly

book cover of Christmas romance novel Season's Yuletide & Holly by Kimberly Thomas
November 2023; Indie; 979-8866785261
ebook, print (208 pages); Christmas romance

Haunted by a tragic accident, Grace Morone returns to her hometown of Belmont after being gone a decade, seeking reconciliation with her estranged family. As she battles against the clock to save her hometown from relentless developers, Grace finds herself torn between the shadows of her past and the uncertain promise of a healed future.

Grace decides to go to her small hometown of Belmont to spend Christmas with her family.  This is the first time in ten years that she has left Boston to spend Christmas with her sister and parents.  Her mom and sister are very welcoming but her father still holds a grudge toward his daughter from something that happened ten years earlier and was the reason that Grace left town.  She's very uncomfortable at her family home but decides to stay.  At the same time, the city is fighting against developers who want to tear down most of the town and ruin its small-town charm.  Because Grace was a city planner in Boston the town board asked her to lead the town fight against the developer.  She feels like she's fighting losing battles both with the developers and her father but her life starts to improve when she runs into her old boyfriend Jack and finds that they still have feelings for each other.  Will Grace be able to save Belmont, get forgiveness from her father plus decide if there is a future for her and Josh?

This book was much more than a simple romance.  It was great to see Grace grow from a lost young woman to a strong woman who leads the charge to save her town.  Will her new self-confidence help bring a Merry Christmas to the town, her family, and most importantly Jack??
