Are you a fan of Thomas Perry's Jane Whitefield series? I haven't been reading this series, but I saw that Thomas Perry died last fall. When I was asked to review his last book, I was curious. Some authors have their series set up to be taken over by someone else upon their death, while others leave them unfinished.
I have to start off by telling you that I had no problem jumping into the series with this book. There is enough backstory provided to get a new reader up to speed. I loved Jane Whitefield, so I definitely want to go back and read the early books to find out what all led her to where she is now.
Have you watched the television show Tracker or read the Jeffery Deaver it's based on? Jane is like a female version of Colter Shaw. Instead of finding people, though, she is hiding them.
This is a pretty fast-paced novel that kept me turning the pages.
I don't know if Perry was already planning to wrap up the series with this book, but it is a great ending. I'm sure long-time readers will enjoy it. I assume some of the characters she connects with in this book were featured in previous books, so that would be satisfying for series fans to hear a little about them again.
