2025 Year in Review

Can you believe we are at the end of 2025? This year seemed to pass at a normal pace for me, not too fast and not too slow. I personally read a lot this year. Susan, MK, and I reviewed a lot of books. If I'm counting right, we did 377 posts - not all of these were reviews, but many of them contained multiple books reviewed. Whether you are a new reader of Girl Who Reads or maybe you missed a few posts along the way, I've rounded up our most popular reviews and other posts of 2025.

A Year in Reviews

Here we are at the end of 2024 and what a year it has been. So many books! We published 405 reviews, discussions, and lists this year. Earlier this week, MK shared her favorite books, which happened to be all fantasy and magical realism, and Susan shared her reading statistics and favorite books. I shared my favorite books of the year back in November and if I were to do the list today I would add 2 books I read this month Daughters of Shandong by Eve J. Chung and Perfect Storm by Paige Shelton.

2022 in Review

A Look Back at 2021

We are at the end of 2021 and what a year it has been. We have all been adjusting to new normals or trying to get back to our old normals. Here at Girl Who Reads we got back to our regular reading after struggling, like many of you, to focus on books in 2020. We've experienced shortages of most things. 2020 End of Year Wrap Up

Happy New Year's Eve! I don't know about you but some days I wondered if we would ever make it to the end of 2020. One shining light throughout the year though was great books. I think many of us (I know all of us at Girl Who Reads) hit a reading slump early in the pandemic but then we started having record-setting reading months. When we couldn't go out, when we needed a break from the 24/7 news, when we just wanted to escape life for a bit, we turned to books. Sometimes it was a favorite author or series and other times it was to discover new favorite authors and series. I wanted to take a moment to look back at some of the highlights of 2020 and thank the incredible writers that helped us through this very rough year.

2019 in Review

Here we are at the end of 2019. This year has gone by faster than any other year, but it has been a great year. We have reviewed so many books and discussed some fun bookish topics. In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights from the year.
