We only have 3 more weekends until Halloween, so we are going to feature a series of books to get you ready. We will start off with some Halloween Treats - fun reads including paranormal cozy mysteries, cozy fantasy, and paranormal romance. Do you lean more towards fun Halloween or scary Halloween?

The Story: A librarian with a knack for solving murders realizes there is something decidedly supernatural afoot in her little town.
Why Read It: If you are looking for a non-typical cozy mystery, this is a great book to pick up. The murder mystery was kind of secondary to the mystery of why the town is demon-possessed (and how to get rid of the demon). Read my full review.

Hexy Beast by Avery Flynn
The Story: An impulsive witch and a buttoned-up werewolf discover love is its own beast in this spicy rom-com.
Why Read It: "It's as fun as I thought it would be," wrote MK in her review. If you are looking to binge-read for the weekend, this is book 3 in the Sherwood Witches series. Each book features a different couple.

Witches of Dubious Origin by Jenn McKinlay
The Story: When a librarian discovers she’s descended from a long line of powerful witches, she’ll need all of her bookish knowledge to harness her family’s magic.
Why Read It: Did you watch Jenn McKinlay's Netflix show this summer? This book is her first foray into fantasy, but it has all the cozy vibes fans have come to expect from her novels. Now would be a good time to read this book, as book 2, Witches of Questionable Intent, comes out next month. Check out my full review.

Rewitched by Lucy Jane Wood
The Story: Belladonna Blackthorn hasn’t lost her magical spark . . . but she hasn’t seen it in a while, either.
Why Read It: This is a fun, light read. There are three books in the series, but they are all standalone novels. Since I definitely lean towards Treats with my Halloween reading, I'm hoping to catch up with book 2 and 3 this month. Read my review of Rewitched.

Road Trip with a Vampire by Jenna Levine
The Story: A vampire who can’t remember his past and a witch with secrets of her own hit the road in this zany, cross-country romantic comedy.
Why Read It: The road trip is full of romance novel tropes, making it lots of fun to read as they go through locations in the journal to figure out Peter's past. Read MK's review.
