Autumn Skies by Denise Hunter ~ a Review

by Susan Roberts

"They'd gotten the place up and running after their parents passed away unexpectedly four years ago.  It had been their retirement dream to turn their historic home back into an inn, and the siblings came together to fulfill their dream.  At the time Grace was heading into her junior year in high school, Molly was almost finished with her hospitality degree and Levi was putting his degree to work in Denver with a commercial construction company.  Their parents' death had changed everything." Autumn Skies
is book three in the series about the Bennett siblings who when their parents die, decide to fulfill their parents’ dream: turning their historic home into an inn.  Book 1, Lake Season, is Molly's story (read my review), Book 2, Carolina Breeze, is Levi's story (read my review) and Book 3 belongs to Grace, the baby of the family.

Grace is the only sibling who plans to stay in Bluebell, NC after the inn is sold. She has started an outfitters business and has big plans for its future.  She knows that she'll miss her siblings when they leave NC but she loves the area and wants to stay.  One day when she is working the front desk at the inn, a handsome man stops to see if they have room.  She's intrigued by him and wonders what secrets he is keeping.  He tells her that he is looking for a place in the mountains that he remembers spending time at when he was growing up and Grace agrees to be his guide for his search.  The immediate sparks that hit when they first meet quickly turn into a much closer relationship but they both know that he will go back to his job as a Secret Service agent and neither of them wants a long-distance relationship.  The more time they spend together, the deeper their feelings for each other grow.  Will they be able to put aside their plans for their lives and get their happily ever after ending?

I loved this series but must admit that Autumn Skies was my favorite and Grace was my favorite character.  The book has a bit of mystery, beautiful scenery, siblings who argue but love each other, and a fantastic romance with a great guy -- what more can you ask for?
