Kristy Woodson Harvey started the Peachtree Bluff series in 2017 and published a book each year for four years.  She thought that the series was finished with book four but then got an idea for one more book set in the beautiful coastal town of Peachtree Bluff, Georgia.  Her readers – especially this one – were thrilled to go back and spend time with the Murphy family. Even though she says that this is the final book in the series, I don’t think there would be any complaints if sometime in the future, she took us back to Peachtree Bluff.

THE STORY

In the previous books, there was always a lot of drama going on in the Murphy family, and this book is full of family drama. 

With babies due and babies wished for, wedding plans, and building a house, there is always something going on in the Murphy family, but the bond between the sisters and their mother remains strong no matter what is going on, and they all rely on each other in the tough times and enjoy each other in the good times.

THE CHARACTERS

• Older sister Caroline still hasn’t divorced her cheating husband Jack but has no desire to become a couple again.  She is busy raising her uber-critical and mouthy teenage daughter Vivi and her precious son.   As usual, she spends her time between New York City and Georgia and is working hard to make Sloane-Emerson design store a success in New York City.  She’s the typical older sister who bosses around and takes care of her younger sisters, but will she find happiness?
• Middle sister Sloane is dealing with two young boys and is pregnant with her third.  She and her husband have been building a house in Peachtree Bluff, and everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with the house and it is beginning to look like they may not be able to move in before the baby is born.
• Youngest sister Emerson is starring in a TV drama and getting ready to marry the love of her life, Kyle.  She wants to get pregnant again, and between that and wedding plans, her stress level is high.
• Vivi, Caroline’s daughter, is in love with a local boy but is finding it difficult to maintain a long-distance relationship.  Will she and Tyler be able to maintain their relationship and go to college together?
• Ansley – last but not least is the matriarch of the Murphy family.  Ansley is still madly in love with Jack, but it seems like he is keeping secrets from her, and when she finds out what is going on, she has to decide whether she will leave the home she loves or lose the love of her life.

MY COMMENTS

Kristy has been my favorite Southern fiction author since I read her first book in 2015.  She has never disappointed me, and I have loved every one of her books.  This series made me laugh and made me cry and made me wish that I could find a town like Peachtree Bluff to live in.  I am lucky to have two sisters that I am very close to, and it was wonderful to see stories that celebrated the bond between sisters.  I would love to go back to Peachtree Bluff and catch up with the lives of the Murphy family sometime in the future.
