When others are reading fluffy romances on the beach, I prefer to read twisty, dark domestic thrillers. So I was looking forward to listening to You're All Mine by Ruth Harrow.

Heather is an interior design influencer. She has traveled around the world designing spaces. She has a picture-perfect house. A handsome husband completes her perfect life. But you know what they say - don't believe what you see on Instagram. Since her return from Milan little things, unsettling things, have been happening. Is it her high school nemesis with who she is competing for a design job? It isn't just her design business that is off, but her husband has been distant too. Can she keep her life from crumbling?

At first, I couldn't tell if Heather had some kind of dementia or the timeline of events. There would be odd things like food that was older than it should be. And then it seemed like there were times when her husband was present but I couldn't tell if it was just in her mind since she kept telling her best friend that he was traveling. About halfway through I realized where my confusion came from - a line in the summary: Or is the ghost of her distant husband haunting her? I read it as if her husband is dead. I'm pointing this out so you don't make the same mistake I did.

I don't know if it is because of the confusion in the beginning, but I didn't feel the tension that a suspense novel usually evokes. I didn't see the ending coming and I'm not sure there were clues, but the way it is presented, it didn't feel like it came completely out of left field. While I probably would have liked a bit more foreshadowing, the ending was plausible.

The narrator, Amanda Parrott, did a good job. I had no problem telling characters a part and the story was easy to follow (even with my confusion) with a mild amount of distraction.

If you like domestic thrillers of B.A. Paris, then I recommend getting this audiobook.
