It's Day 2 of the 25 Days of Christmas Reading, and I'm sharing the books on my Christmas reading list. Some are new books out this year that I held off reading until Christmas, others are books I either picked up for free over the years or books I saw at the library.
I hope you will join us every day for Christmas reading recommendations, free ebooks, or some other festive goodies. If you do miss a day, you can catch up at this link: Christmas Reading.

New Books
Christmas at the Nantucket Restaurant by Pamela Kelley
Nantucket's famous Christmas Stroll is always the first week of December and this year sisters Mandy and Emma and Paul, the executive chef want to do something extra special for Mimi's Place, the restaurant that they co-own. (Goodreads)
I love books set in Nantucket, and I've read several set during the Christmas Stroll (to visit the Christmas Stroll is on my bucket list). I've read a few of Pamela Kelley's books, including last year's Christmas book. Christmas at the Nantucket Restaurant is book 2 in the Nantucket Restaurant series. The series has been released previously, but Sourcebooks Landmark has re-released the first two books this year. I haven't read book 1, so I hope it can be read as a standalone.

A Merry Little Lie by Sarah Morgan
Becky is stranded at the airport, so when she bumps into her brother’s best friend, Will, and he suggests they drive home together, Becky reluctantly agrees. For the first time, Becky is dreading Christmas, and only Will knows why. Can she trust him to keep her secret? (Goodreads)
This is another new book this year, which I held on to to read during the holidays. I've enjoyed Sarah Morgan's Christmas novels the last two years. MK and Susan have read and enjoyed a couple of her summer reads as well. Based on the past books, I feel like I should have a cup of cocoa and a plate of sugar cookies when I read this one.

The Secret Christmas Library by Jenny Colgan
Mirren Sutherland stumbled into a career as an antiquarian book hunter after finding a priceless antique book in her great aunt’s attic. Now, as Christmas approaches, she’s been hired by Jamie McPherson, the surprisingly young and handsome laird of a Highland clan whose ancestral holdings include a vast crumbling castle. Family lore suggests that the McPherson family’s collection includes a rare book so valuable that it could save the entire estate—if they only knew where it was. Jamie needs Mirren to help him track down this treasure, which he believes is hidden in his own home. (Goodreads)
I've been reading a lot of books this year with books, libraries, and bookstores in the title, so I felt like I had to read this book. Susan has reviewed several of Jenny Colgan's novels, and I've read a couple of her books. I'm looking forward to this book, which is why I saved it for the holidays.

A Christmas Witness by Charles Todd
December 1921: Being single and a new Chief, Inspector Rutledge gets the short straw and is called upon by Chief Superintendent Markum to go to the Kentish home of a lord who is recovering from an attempt on his life. In bed with a concussion, the man is convinced someone is trying to kill him after he claims he was struck by the hoof of a running horse whose rider never stopped to check on him. (Goodreads)
Just as I can only eat so many sugar cookies, I can only read so many holiday romances. This mystery should help balance things out. I think I read one of Charles Todd's short stories in an anthology, but I haven't read any of the books in the Inspector Rutledge series.

Christmas in Bayberry by Jennifer Faye
Kate Taylor knows what she wants in to one day run her family’s candle business, which is at the heart of the close-knit community of Bayberry, Vermont. But the company isn’t doing well. (Goodreads)
I was looking for something else at Libby and I ran across this audiobook. I'm not sure if my hold will come before the end of the year, but it sounds like a cute, Hallmark-type holiday romance.

The Christmas Guest by Peter Swanson
An American art student in London is invited to join a classmate for the holidays at Starvewood Hall, her family's Cotswold manor house. But behind the holly and pine boughs, secrets are about to unravel, revealing this seemingly charming English village's grim history. (Goodreads)
You might remember that I tried to listen to this audiobook last Christmas, but my hold didn't come in during the holidays. I thought I would try again this year, but again it is looking doubtful as I'm number 20 on the hold list. You wouldn't think that would be much of a wait for a 3 hour audiobook, but I haven't moved on the list.

I'm Glad I Found You this Christmas by CP Ward
I'm glad I found you this Christmas - an uplifting sweet romance set against the magical backdrop of Christmas. (Goodreads)
I used to pick up a lot of free Christmas romances. I got this one in 2021 and it might be time to read it. It is still free if you want to get it for yourself.

Mall I Want for Christmas is You by Sarah Robinson
Single mom Chrissy Eve is struggling to make ends meet selling pretzels at the Yule Heights Shopping Mall. All this mama wants is a silent night, but when her seven-year-old asks the mall Santa to teach his mom to drive a sleigh, she finds herself in knots over the man in red. (Goodreads)
It is another free ebook I picked up. It was in 2020, so I was probably looking for all the silly, fun, ridiculous holiday romances I could find that year (I think I binged a ton of Hallmark-like Christmas movies, too). It's not free anymore.

I have several more, but this list probably has enough to get you started with your own Christmas reading list. I would love to know if you are reading any of these or what other Christmas books you are reading this year.
