One favor deserves another, or does it?

It's like visiting old friends to return to the Beach House Hotel and catch up with Ann and Rhonda.  They are dealing with a request from the Vice President, a young pregnant girl and a pair of old enemies opening a new hotel to compete with their boutique hotel.   And, most important, babies - lots of babies.

The Vice President asks them to find a room for Maddy, a young girl who got pregnant when someone drugged her at a DC party.  Her parents have disowned her and she has plans to give up her baby to a popular Senator and his wife.  Does she really want to give up her baby or keep it and develop her relationship with Jax, a friend from her younger days?

Aubery and Brock opened a nearby hotel called The Sand Castle, a playground for the hip and their plan is to put The Beach House hotel out of business.

Along with all the stress of their day to day lives, both of them become grandmothers when their daughters have babies and along with the Mandy's baby, there is a lot of joy in both families.

This book takes us back to the Beach House Hotel on the Gulf Coast of Florida, where best friends Ann and Rhonda work hard to keep their guests at the hotel happy and anxious to return again.  They are beginning to wonder how long they can keep their current schedules at the hotel -- both have daughters and small grandchildren, plus husbands that they want to spend more time with.  They agree to cut back a little bit but their plan doesn't last for long because of their love of the hotel and their desire for its continued success.

There are several interrelated side plots in this story

-Bobby, A star NFL player with a major attitude, has been sent by his coach to work at the hotel to learn to get along with people. Ann and Rhonda work to find a place where he can learn more about people and be a kinder person.

-Movie star Tina returns to the hotel with her two children.  This time she brings a nanny, Sydney, who impresses Ann and Rhonda and soon catches the eye of the NFL player with the attitude.  A horrific event gives Bobby a chance to become the man he needs to be.

In this book, we get another fantastic story of love and family and strong women meeting challenges.  Judith Keim is an author whose readers can always be assured that they'll get a fantastic story with a happy ending.

Guests can be surprising…

Book eight in the Beach House hotel series takes us back to visit our friends Ann and Rhonda.  They are both still very involved in their hotel but think about having more time with their husbands, kids, and grandkids.  Neither of them gets much chance to do that in this book because there are several intertwined situations that keep them busy.

They have received a request from Hilda Hassel,  a member of the Bavarian royal family, for a two-week stay at their hotel.  Along with the request for the best room, Hilda wants to have high tea delivered to her room every afternoon. Ann is uneasy about it, but Rhonda convinces her that it will be good for their reputation to be able to say that they had royalty stay at the hotel.  Once  Hilda arrives, they both get nervous.  She has a younger 'nephew' with her, and some strange things begin to happen at the hotel.  Can they get this problem solved before their reputation as a high-class hotel is ruined?

Along with this major problem to contend with, they are busy organizing weddings, Christmas functions, and their New Year's Eve party while they try to carve out time for their families.

If you haven't read this series, I think you need to go back to book 1 and get to know Ann and Rhonda from the beginning. As always, readers can depend on Judith Keim to give them a book about strong women meeting and overcoming challenges.  This book has a bit of a mystery, a little romance, and a lot of love and family.

Another favor can mean another problem for Ann and Rhonda ...

I'm thrilled to go back to the Beach House Hotel and catch up with Ann and Rhonda and their families.  The two women have worked very hard to make their hotel successful, and one of the main reasons is that they protect the names of the people who are staying there, which really makes a difference with movie stars and politicians who want to be away from the news media and the paparazzi.

The vice-president has asked Ann and Rhoda to rent a house on their property to Darryl Douglas, who is a nighttime talk show host.  It seems like every time they listen to the VP, they end up with problems.  But after watching his show, they decide to let him come.  The other house on the property is being rented to Tina, a long-time friend and movie star who is bringing her personal trainer to help her get in shape for a new movie.  Both guests need anonymity as they hide from the public to deal with problems.  When Darryl's ex-wife rents a room, trouble starts almost immediately.  She doesn't know that he's also there, and Ann and Rhonda work to keep it that way.  But she's a real publicity hound and starts to give interviews and invite photographers to take her photos so she can stay in the news.  To make things even more difficult, another person checks in who refuses to follow the rules.  Ann and Rhoda have their hands full trying to protect their hotel and their goal to allow their guests total anonymity.  Along with all of these issues, they are busy hosting weddings and, most importantly, working very hard to find time to spend with their families.

Nightcaps at the Beach House is another fantastic book in this series.  Once again, as with the other books in the series, the author highlights strong older women who work hard to balance their time so that they can spend quality time with their families.

Bubbles … champagne, challenges, and spa treatments at The Beach House Hotel ...

It's time to go back to the Beach House Hotel for the latest adventures of Ann and Rhoda.  I've gotten to know them so well during this series that it feels like spending time with old friends. This time around, they have a book club group of five amazing women, two men who work for the Vice President, several weddings, and problems in their personal lives.  They both have to try to learn to control their work/life balance because even though they know that their families are the most important part of their lives, the happiness of the people at their hotel, both staff and guests, is a high priority.

Ann and Rhoda are thrilled to find out that one of their private houses has been rented by a book club made up of 5 long time friends who have been saving for a long time to enjoy their vacation together.  The club is made up of very diverse women - one married her high school boyfriend, one was in her second marriage, one was in the process of divorce, another was divorced from a mentally abusive man, and a widow who wasn't interested in ever finding another man.  When two men who worked for their friend, the VP, rented the house next door, they immediately began some matchmaking.  Will any of the book club members find their happily ever after?  Ann and Rhonda do their best to make it happen.

As their daughters become more involved in working with the hotel on special events, both Ann and Rhonda begin to see that the time is coming for them to turn the Beach House Hotel over to the next generation, but both of them agree that they are having too much fun for that transition to happen any time soon.

Readers can always depend on Judith Keim to give them a book about strong women in great locations. This series has another plus for me because the women are older and have a lot of life experience. So pack your bags and head to Florida for a stay at the Beach House Hotel...you're going to love it!

A surprising turn of events awaits Ann and Rhonda...

Once again Ann and Rhoda are asked for a favor by the Vice President of the US.  All of her past requests have led to problems for the hotel, and the arrival of the Italian Ambassador is plagued by several issues.  This time, the problems have to do with the arrival of a new chef at the hotel.  Chet has been blackballed by famous chef Jonny Arno, and when Arno builds a new restaurant at a nearby location, the conflict between the two men escalates.  As Ann and Rhonda deal with the conflict, they are also faced with additional problems as they work to have more time with their husbands and families while they solve problems at the hotel, plus do a bit of matchmaking between the new chef and the daughter of the Ambassador.

This is book 11 of the fantastic Beach House Hotel series.  It's a series that should be read in order for maximum enjoyment, and it's so good that you'll be happy that you've read it all.  I'm not sure how many more books will be in the series, but I hope that it continues for many more books.

Sometimes an unexpected breeze can change everything…

Ann and Rhonda, the co-owners, are getting busy as they prepare for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Life at the hotel is always busy, but the holidays are a high-stress time.  Along with the extra work at the hotel, Ann has extra company coming to visit.  Vaughn’s daughter, Nell, is coming for Thanksgiving with her two children, but her husband, Clint, is only staying one day because he has to get back to work on a big project.  Both Ann and Vaughn are worried that there are problems in the marriage, and once they talk to Nell, they get even more worried.  Clint gets injured in a boat accident, and his injuries are bad enough to keep him in Florida longer than he planned.  His co-worker is not happy with the delay – in fact, the woman appears to be very possessive of Clint’s time, and everyone is worried that there may be an affair going on.  Ann and Rhonda offer Nell a job at the hotel, and she really fits in with the rest of the staff.  She wants to remain in Florida; she thinks it would be better for her and for the kids, but Clint wants to finish out his project so that he can provide a luxurious lifestyle for his family.  Will there be a happy outcome to the problems between Nell and Clint, and will they stay in Florida?

Once again, Ann and Rhonda work together to make the hotel a success, and they work just as hard to keep love and happiness in their families.  Another great book in the series.
