Donna did a fantastic review of books about strong women during World War II.  I have listed some books that show the contributions made by women in American history.  These are all historical fiction novels based on real women who were often ignored in the history books but made a real difference.

WWII Fiction to Read for Women's History Month

It's no secret that Susan and I love WWII fiction. The last few years there has been a shift in telling the stories of women during this time period. Some of that has to do with the fact that people have been released from Official Secrets Act (so kids are finding out that their mothers and grandmothers weren't just secretaries during the war but code breakers and spies). I love finding these stories that tell a piece of history that has largely been overlooked. If you are wanting to read something for Women's History Month, but aren't too keen on non-fiction, I've put together a list of some of my favorite WWII fiction featuring women. Some of these are newer while others are a few years old.

Bookstore Event: Movable Feast 2019

I attended the Movable Feast at Bookmarks this week.  It was a great event and lots of fun.  There were 18 authors there and 10 authors came to each table.  They had 10 minutes to talk about their book and answer a few questions before the bell rang and they moved to another table.  It was great fun to meet some new authors and to see some authors that I knew.  They had books for sale by each author and even though I told myself before the event that I wouldn't buy any books, I ended up buying 4 new books.  Another interesting part of this event was that I went by myself and didn't know anyone at my table of 8 people.  But book lovers are never strangers for long and it didn't take much time before we were chatting like old friends.
