3 Crime Fiction Books You Won't Want to Put Down

by Donna Huber

I enjoy reading crime fiction. I debated discussing crime fiction for the letter C during the A to Z Challenge, but since I was discussing a few of the subgenres I decided to do something else for C. A couple of years ago, I joined a mystery book club where we sampled a variety of the subgenres. My favorite crime fiction has always been spy thrillers and domestic thrillers but I've come to appreciate mysteries too. Today, I have some great recommendations in all three of these subgenres.

Having survived the Blitz in London, time in the country sounds good, but Electra is keener to once again work a case with the major. The Key to Deceit by Ashley Weaver ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

The Key to Deceit by Ashley Weaver is the second book in her Electra McDonnell mystery series. I did read book one, A Peculiar Combination (read my review), but I don't think it is necessary to have read it as I didn't remember much and still enjoyed this book.

A Peculiar Combination by Ashley Weaver ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I was excited to see that Ashley Weaver had a new series coming out. That it was set during one of my favorite time periods to read about - WWII - was a bonus. While I enjoy her Amory Ames series, I liked A Peculiar Combination a bit more.

A Deception at Thornecrest by Ashley Weaver ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I was kind of on the fence about continuing with this series. However, I have enjoyed it more and more with each book that I've read. A Deception at Thornecrest has moved it to my must-read series list.

Murder at the Brightwell by Ashley Weaver ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

Earlier this month I read A Dangerous Engagement (read my review), book 6 in the Amory Ames series, but I hadn't read any other books in the serious. Since I enjoyed it so I looked at Netgalley to see if there were any other books coming up from Ashley Weaver and I saw that book 1 in the series was available. I thought it was good to see how it all started, and I'm glad I did because it didn't start where I thought it did.

A Dangerous Engagement by Ashley Weaver ~ a Review

by Donna Huber

I have trouble passing up a cozy mystery when I see it. It doesn't matter if it is book 1 or book 20 in a series, I must read it. A Dangerous Engagement is book 6 in the Amory Ames series. I haven't read this series or anything by Ashley Weaver as this is her debut series. But I don't think it will be my last.
