ebook, print (80 pages); historical
This is a well-written novella about life in a small town in Kent, England,  in 1952. Josie and Mitch are twins and they spend time with two other friends. Josie in unable to talk but communicates with her friends by writing in her tablet. They are all thrilled when the teacher they dislike is replaced by a young American male teacher. At first, they love the new teacher but then become suspicious of him and start trying to find evidence that he is not who he pretends to be. The more they try to spy on him, the deeper in trouble they become.

I enjoyed this book and really liked the four children - especially Josie who could communicate so well without being able to talk.
