K.D. Emerson: A new site for finding bargain ebooks

Books! You gotta love them. I’ve traveled the entire world, the entire universe really, just by opening a book. I’ve meet characters that inspire me, make me angry, and make me cry or laugh aloud. I’m sure you can relate.

From my earliest memories I have wanted to be involved in the world of creating stories and providing a few hours of entertainment for people. Because of this I became passionate about helping other authors and readers connect.

I noticed a real need for a community where authors and readers could connect. I dreamed of a place where avid readers could find lots of stories at reasonable prices so they would never run out of great places to go and interesting people to meet.  I dreamed of a place where authors could promote their stories without going broke doing it. I wanted a place where authors and readers could chat and build a relationship.

Review: Ty the Bull by Brenda Perlin, K.D. Emerson and Rex Baughman

The story is about Ty, who feels that he is alone after his parents get divorced.  Ty is invited to his best friend’s birthday party and is really looking forward to it until he starts to get bulled by a new boy.  It doesn’t just stop at the party though and he also starts to get bullied at school. His friends now become his old friends and they start to play with the new boy too. 

With his mother always at work and his father never available on the phone, Rex reaches his lowest point . He goes to the local skate park where he makes an usual and unlikely friend who gives him the advice and strength he needs to feel confident enough to stick up to these bullies. He visits this new friend a few times and each time his friend gives him some sound advice that really seems to help Ty and i found myself glad that he finally had someone to talk to.

Ty the Bull is amazing and so inspirational. Everybody gets bullied at some point during their lives although some are worse than others it just shows that you need to be strong and confident and not let them get to you. I loved this story and it made me chuckle when Ty turned himself around and started to stick up for himself more and answer the bullies back.

I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a ‘good vs bad’ story, or who has children. This will show your children that even though there are bullies out there you can take their power away by sticking up for yourself and being strong.

Review: Digitus 233 by K. D. Emerson

We start off with a group of teenagers on a plane off to ‘leadership camp’. All of the kids are the sons and daughters of millionaires and are supposed to be ‘leadership’ material. What they do not know is that there is a stowaway on board; Zeph the brother of Zander. Jealous of his brother but also curious to what this special camp is like.

Before getting to camp the teenagers are thrown from the plane, terrified and not knowing what else to do Zeph stays in his hiding place until the plane lands.

Meanwhile back on the ground the gang find themselves on a frozen wasteland with nothing else around but ice. They quickly realise that this is real and nobody is coming to save them. Zander takes charge and they quickly realise that they will have to work together to survive this harsh and unforgiving place.

Zeph meanwhile finds himself on an island. There seems to be some sort of excavation here complete with a small village type area where Zeph goes to find something to eat. Whilst digging around Zeph finds out that ‘Leadership camp’ is not exactly what it seems and he starts to fear for his brother's safety. Finding an unlikely ally Zeph and his partner set out to save Zander and his friends.

A wonderful adventure, written beautifully we meet some lovely characters, including a cheeky monkey, and some diabolical characters who will go to great lengths to gain power.  The end of the story is a huge cliff hanger and I cannot wait to read book two.
