A Summer Catch-up

by Donna Huber

It has been forever (since January) since I've done one of these monthly wrap up posts. It's been a busy year so I'll catch you up on the highlights.

The First Reading Month of 2022

by Donna Huber

January always feels so long and it didn't help that I didn't sleep well for most of it. The cold, wet weather (I got snow one day) made my arthritis flare up. I didn't read much because I was just too tired most evenings.

Last Month of Reading for 2021

by Donna Huber

I can hardly believe that we are at the end of 2021. While this year was a little more normal there were times that I forgot we were in 2021 (maybe it is because it felt like 2020 didn't happen).  December was a good month with many days off from work, a lot of cookie baking, and definitely some good reading.

Thankful for Books - November Wrap-up

by Donna Huber

I hope everyone who celebrated had a nice holiday. I enjoyed my long week off from work. I made some progress on the "junk" room this week and my niece came over for a few days. Of course, there was plenty to eat. And I did a little bit of reading.

Books Piles as Big as the Piles of Fall Leaves

by Donna Huber

From the piles of leaves on the ground you would think my trees would be bare, but no, leaves still cling to their limbs. It kind of reminds me of my books piles. Just to look at my piles, it would look like I haven't read anything. However, I think I read a near record-setting number of books this month (it might be a record).

Fall Reading Has Begun ~ September Wrap-up

by Donna Huber

Fall coming in with very chilly air. After two days of lows in the 50s and highs in 70s, I'm ready for summer again. Thankfully we should get into the 80s next week but it won't last. I'm not looking forward to winter.

Last of the Summer Reading

by Donna Huber

International Cat Day was on August 8 and since I have a bunch of literary kitties, I thought I would show them off again. I was just able to catch the kitty at the top right corner laying with the stack of books recently.

Summer Reading Continues - July Wrap Up

by Donna Huber

Though there is a week left in July, it is the last Sunday so I'm doing my end-of-the-month wrap-up. I've been flying through books the past couple of weeks so I will update the books read section throughout the week.

Summer Reading Time - June Wrap-up

by Donna Huber

Summer is officially here. It's been hot and muggy or cool and rainy most of the month. We've only had a couple of really nice summer days. But life has slowed down or maybe I'm just finding my new normal but I found a little more time to read and sleep this month.

Wrapping Up Spring Reading - May Update

by Donna Huber

I don't know about you but May went really fast. It was busy as life returns to normal and it seems like I have more to do now than I did before the pandemic.

More Spring Reading - April Update

by Donna Huber

The so few April showers we've had means I've had plenty of days to do yard work which means I haven't been spending as much time reading. My yard is starting to look nice but my reading pile is toppling more than ever!

Some Spring Time Reading

by Donna Huber

While last month marked the 1 year anniversary of COVID-19 cases in the U.S. This month marks the 1 year anniversary since the pandemic impacted my life. I looked back on my March 2020 wrap-up post just to see what I was thinking and feeling during a time when life, as I called it, went sideways.

Wrapping Up Winter Reading, Spring is Around the Corner

by Donna Huber

February has been a busy month filled with a ton of books. I think at least half of my favorite authors had new books come out this month. I read so much that now I have eye strain and trying not to look at any screens (good thing that I can type without looking!).

Winter Reading - January Wrap-up

by Donna Huber

Usually, January feels like a long month, but I think after last year nothing can feel quite as long as those months. I'm back to my average amount of books read and there are a few more television shows entertaining me. The only other thing is work as I'm still not going into stores or restaurants.

The Last Reading Month of 2020

by Donna Huber

We've finally made it to the end of 2020. In just a few days we will flip the calendar and 2020 will be hindsight. While some of the challenges of 2020 will follow us into the new year, there is hope that we will overcome them.

Thankful for Books

by Donna Huber

Can you believe there is only a month left of 2020? Though in many ways this has felt like a very long year the last few months have flown by. I don't think this will be a year that we forget any time soon.

October Wrap Up: A Month of Reading Treats

by Donna Huber

It's the last Sunday of the month which means I give a little update on life, the blog, and reading. Life feels like it has fallen into a nice routine. While I'm not doing things I did before the pandemic - no shopping (besides grocery runs) and no eating out (not even takeout) - I find that I no longer miss those things. I was able to read/listen to a lot of books this month.

The Start of Fall Reading

by Donna Huber

Here we are at the end of September. I think time is starting to normalize as this month didn't feel like it flew by nor did it drag. I'm also back to reading my average number of books per month.

A Hot Month of Reading

by Donna Huber

Here we are at the end of July though I've been having trouble remembering it is July. I told someone the date the other day and I said it is June. It's been hot and I've been spending the weekends at my parents' pool (and eating a lot of ice cream). Other than going to my parents' house, a couple of grocery pickups, and a trip to the office I haven't left the house. I love living the recluse life.

A Look Back at June

by Donna Huber

I'm getting ready to start my 16th week working solely from home. I'm still loving it. And the best part is that I'm over my reading slump and had one of my best reading months.
