Freshly baked baguettes and strong coffee, a moonlit walk beneath the twinkling lights of the Eiffel tower, sunset over the rooftops… and oh là là ! A murder in the French capital?

You can't take Matt and Kitty anywhere without a dead body turning up! Kitty's grandmother is invited to Paris by an old friend, and she asks Kitty and Matt to join her. Her grandmother always wanted to attend a dress show at a fashion house. It is all she dreamed of except for the murder of one of the models, who also happens to be her friend's son's girlfriend. In between pastries and sightseeing, Matt and Kitty are pulled into the investigation as various people involved want their names cleared.
Murder in Paris is book 21 in the Kitty Underhay series, but you don't need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. Since it takes place away from home, it is probably one of the easiest books in the series to drop into, as you don't have to worry about a bunch of characters that series fans already know.
While there is an overarching mystery that Matt and Kitty have been investigating for a few books that is brought up in this book, it is very much on the back burner as they tour Paris. Usually, aside from the overarching mystery, all the plotlines are tied up in a book. However, there was a plot thread introduced towards the end, and then it was never mentioned again. I want to know what happened, and perhaps the characters will make another appearance in a later book. With the grandmother's friend moving to England, we may at least get an update on the situation second-hand as she brings news back with her.
Overall, this is an entertaining story. It's light and fluffy with great characters.
