3 Biographical Fiction Stories to Read

In the United States, many people are spending time with friends and family cooking out, visiting the beach or pool, and maybe enjoying some fireworks later tonight to kick off the unofficial start of summer. But Memorial Day is about so much more than just some fun. We are remembering and honoring the men and women who answered the call to defend our country. Historical fiction can be a great way to learn about some of these people. I read a lot of WWII fiction, which is one of the most popular sub-genres of historical fiction. It seems like it would be easy to repeat the same stories and just change the names but authors keep finding new ways to address the war.  I've recently read 3 books that take a different look at the heroic women who did their part to win the war.  Each of these books looks at a different aspect of the war.

Females Featured in Two New Books for Fans of Historical Fiction

March saw so many great books being released that you may still be trying to get to them all. I know I am. I recently finished two that Susan had reviewed last month and if you haven't read these two books yet you need to move them to the top of your TBR pile. To help me catch up I listened to the audiobooks that I was able to get from my digital library but I also received free ARCs. The audiobooks were well done and the stories easy to follow so if you are trying to squeeze in more reading time these would be great listens.

I enjoy reading books about WWII especially if they have female main characters. If you enjoyed The Nightingale or The Baker's Secret, if you enjoy historical fiction, or if you just enjoy a well-written book that will keep you reading long into the night, The Alice Netword is definitely the book for you.
