Every spring, Nora Roberts publishes a standalone suspense novel, plus in the fall, she releases a book in her current trilogy.  I don't usually read her trilogy because for the past years they have been magical realism and/or paranormal.  I really enjoyed her standalone books, so I decided to try one of her trilogies.

7 Women's Fiction Novels to Wrap Up Summer

Women's fiction is an umbrella term for women-centered books that focus on women's life experience that are marketed to female readers.  I have seven women's fiction books today that show how varied the novels are that fall into the genre of women's fiction-- one is family life humor, one is a suspense novel, the third is a novel about an extremely dysfunctional family, two books about older women at pivotal points in their lives, and two books about women who have to make a decision whether to accept and forgive their past and start overlooking towards a happier life in the future. All of them are great books to wrap up the summer and head into fall with.

Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts ~ A Review

I used to read every word that Nora Roberts wrote.  I loved her romances and her trilogies and I didn't miss a book.  As my reading preferences have changed, I don't read much romance and I don't like the trilogies that she writes because most of them have a lot of fantasy and magic in them.  I do, however, like the new book that she publishes every spring in the Romantic Suspense category.  These are longer books and have lots more character development than many of her earlier books.  There is some romance in these books but it's definitely less than previous - the main focus is on character development and suspense.  Her new book, SHELTER IN PLACE, is a real page-turner.

Nora Roberts never fails to entertain her readers. This book has all of her trademarks - beautiful women and handsome men, multi-generational family, great friendships and romance, in fact, three main romances. This one also adds suspense and a dual timeline that all connects at the end.
